Retiradong kawal na napatay ng pulis ginawaran ng honors, ihihimlay sa Libingan ng mga Bayani
NAKATAKDANG ihimlay sa Libingan ng mga Bayani ang retiradong sundalong binaril at napatay ng pulis na nagpatupad ng enhanced community quarantine sa Quezon City.
Dinala ang mga labi ng retired Cpl. Winston Ragos sa Army Mortuary sa Libingan ng mga Bayani, Sabado ng madaling-araw, at pagdating doon ay ginawaran siya ng military honors.
“We condole with the family of the late Cpl. Ragos, he has suffered enough from the challenges of PTSD caused by the invisible wounds of war… The Army honors Ragos for his service and sacrifice that defines us,” ani Army chief Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay.
Ayon kay Army spokesman Col. Ramon Zagala, bago ito’y nakipag-ugnayan ang hukbo sa ina ni Ragos para ilipat ang mga labi mula sa St. Eldridge funeral homes ng Quezon City.
Sinundo rin ng hukbo ang anak ni Ragos para makadalo sa lamay.
“The Army will shoulder all burial expenses and other assistance needed by the family,” ani Zagala.
Una dito, hiniling ng Army sa National Bureau of Investigation na magsagawa ng hiwalay na pagsisiyasat sa pagpatay ng pulis kay Ragos noong Abril 21.
“The request was for an impartial investigation to find out the truth,” ani Zagala.
