NAITALA sa Quezon City ang pinakamataas na heat index kanina.
Ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration naitala ang heat index sa 42 degrees Celsius.
Naitala ito ala-1:50 ng hapon sa Science Garden sa Quezon City.
Kahapon ang heat index ay 39.0 degrees Celsius.
“Kapag mas marami ang moisture sa hangin, mas mabagal ang pag-evaporate ng pawis kaya mas umiinit ang pakiramdam ng katawan,” saad ng PAGASA. “Panganib ang dulot ng 42°C heat index. Posible ang heat cramps at heat exhaustion na maaaring mauwi sa heat stroke kapag tuluy-tuloy ang physical activity.”
Ang temperatura naman sa Quezon City ay naitala sa 35.2 degrees Celsius.
“Pero pinapaalalahanan pa rin ang lahat na dalasan ang pag-inom ng tubig at iwasan ang physical activities sa tanghali at hapon para maiwasan ang heat stress ngayong tag-init.”
