2.2M empleyado nganga sa tulong pinansyal ng gobyerno

MAYROON 5.7 milyong empleyado ng Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at 3.4 milyon lamang ang matutulungan ng gobyerno sa ilalim ng Small Business Wage Subsidy Program.

Nanawagan si Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera sa gobyerno na tulungan ang lahat ng empleyadong ito.

What will then happen to the remaining 40 percent or around 2.28 million who will not be given the much needed subsidy?” tanong ni Herrera. “The government should do its best to ensure that all of the more than 5.7 million MSME workers will benefit from the wage subsidy program to help them cope with the COVID-19 crisis.”

Isa si Herrera sa nagsusulong na tulungan ang mga MSMEs upang maiwasan na magtanggal ng empleyado ang mga ito.

    “The wage subsidy is intended to support and motivate all small business owners to keep their workers employed during the COVID-19 crisis,” saad ng lady solon.

Kung hindi umano matutulungan ang lahat ng MSMEs nangangamba si Herrera na mauwi ito sa pagtaas ng bilang ng mga walang trabaho dahil hindi na kayang pasuwelduhin ng kanilang mga employer.

Ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority 99.52 porsyento o 998,342 sa 1,003,111 business enterprises sa bansa ay MSMEs.

Ang 4,769 o 0.48 percent ay bumubuo sa large enterprises.

Sa mga MSME establishments, ang Herrera 88.45 porsyento (887,272) ay micro,  ang small enterprises ay 10.58 porsyento (106,175) at ang medium enterprises ay 0.49 porsyento (4,895).

Noong 2018, nagtatrabaho sa MSMEs ang kabuuang 5,714,262 trabaho o 63.19 porsyento ng total employment sa bansa.
