VAT suspindehin para bumaba ang bayarin sa kuryente ngayong ECQ

PARA bumaba ang bayarin sa kuryente, maaari umanong suspendihin ng gobyerno ang ipinapataw ditong Value Added Tax at Universal Charges hanggang sa matapos ang Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Ayon kay Terry Ridon, convenor ng Infrawatch PH convenor, aabot sa P200 ang mababawas sa bayarin ng isang pamilya na gumagamit ng 200 kiloWatt hour kada buwan.
“This translates into a staggering P4.2-Billion indirect economic aid to 21 million lower income households without the need for new loans or the sale of government assets,” ani Ridon.
Maaaring maliit umano ang tingin ng iba sa matitipid na P200 pero sa isang mahirap na pamilya ito ay nangangahulugan ng anim na kilong bigas.
Kung sususpendihin din ang universal charges partikular ang Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) ay madaragdagan ang matitipid ng mga konsumer.
“Indirect economic aid to 21 million low income households from the suspension of PSALM universal charges amounts to P207-Million. This is an intervention which the President can order at once, without question.”
