Iloilo City mayor galit sa OWWA; OFW na may COVID-19 pinayagang makapasok sa syudad nang walang test, quarantine

GALIT umano si Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas sa Overseas Workers Welfare Administration matapos payagan nitong makapasok sa syudad ang isang overseas Filipino worker na nagpositibo sa coronavirus disease at na-repatriate mula sa Cebu.

Binatikos ni Trenas ang OWWA matapos hayaan nitong makapasok sa Iloilo City ang ilang stranded na OFW sa Cebu nang hindi muna dumaan sa testing at sa 14-day quarantine.

Aniya, isang gabing palugit lamang ang ibinigay sa kanya tungkol sa nasabing balita.

“I am terribly mad at the OWWA. They informed me only the night before the OFWs will be arriving” ani mayor.

Sinabi rin ni Treñas na tinatayang 94 na katao ang na-expose sa taong nainfect ng COVID-19.

Isa rin daw itong violation sa protocols na hinain ng Inter-Agency Task Force patungkol sa repatriation ng mga OFW.

“We also want them (OFWs) to be with their families but our safety should not be sacrificed. They should have endured and contained it, security first!” ani Treñas.

Sinabi rin ni Treñas na hindi na papayagan ng city government ng Iloilo ang pagpapapasok sa mga OFW hangga’t hindi sila isinasailalim sa test at dadaan sa 14-day quarantine.
