GENEVA, Switzerland — Nagpahayag ng pangamba ang World Health Organization na ang agarang pagbawi sa lockdown para makontrol ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 ay posibleng magdulot ng mas malaking problema.
Ayon sa pinuno ng WHO na si Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, posibleng mas dumami ang kaso ng maaapektuhan ng COVID-19 kung mamadaliin ang pagbawi sa mga ipinatutupad na restriction gaya ng lockdown ng iba’t ibang mga bansa.
“I know that some countries are already planning the transition out of stay-at-home restrictions. WHO wants to see restrictions lifted as much as anyone,” ayon sa opisyal sa isang press conference sa Geneva.
“At the same time, lifting restrictions too quickly could lead to a deadly resurgence. The way down can be as dangerous as the way up if not managed properly.
“WHO is working with affected countries on strategies for gradually and safely easing restrictions.”
Paakyat na sa 100,000 ang bilang ng mga nasawi dahil sa sakit habang nasa 1.6 milyon ang naitalang kaso ng CVOD-19 sa buong mundo.
