Army lieutenant nahirapang huminga, patay, iniimbestigahan pa sa COVID-19

INAALAM ngayon ng Armed Forces kung tinamaan ng 2019-Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) ang isang Army lieutenant na nasawi sa Bulacan, Miyerkules ng hapon.

Ayon kay AFP chief Gen. Felimon Santos, binawian ng buhay si 2Lt. Vince Magbanua, miyembro ng Army 48th Infantry Battalion, sa isang pagamutan sa Norzagaray.

Si Magbanua ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy class 2018 (“Alab Tala”), aniya.

Ayon kay Santos, dinala sa ospital ang batang opisyal noong Martes ng hapon matapos mahirapang huminga.

Lumabas sa inisyal na diagnosis ng doktor na acute bronchitis ang dinanas ni Magbanua, pero nang makabalik sa barracks ay sumailalim na sa self-quarantine, ani Santos.

“We are yet to receive as at this time the report that will conclude if this was a case of COVID-19 or not. But contact tracing and quarantine protocols are already being implemented in 48th IB as a matter of precaution,” aniya.

Samantala, binuksan na ng AFP ang isang emergency quarantine facility (EQF) sa Camp Aguinaldo.

Tatanggap ang EQF ng COVID-19 patients may bahagya o walang sintomas para makabawas ng pasyente sa mga ospital, ani AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo.

Ang pasilidad, na dinisenyo ng grupo ni Architect William Ti, ay pangangasiwaan ng Camp Aguinaldo Station Hospital.

Ito ay kabilang sa 47 EQF na ikinalat sa military at non-military groups.

Siyam na unit at ospital ng militar na ang tumanggap ng EQFs, na nagkakahalaga ng P350,000 kada isa.
