P22.5M halaga ng kumpiskadong medical supplies ipamimigay

MAAARING ipamigay sa frontliners at mga ospital ang milyun-milyong halaga ng medical supplies na nakumpiska ng mga otoridad sa hoarders at profiteers kung sakaling magkaubusan sa nagpapatuloy na krisis na dulot ng 2019-Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), ayon sa pulisya.

Di bababa sa P22.5 milyon halaga na ng face masks, alcohol, thermal scanners, surgical gloves, at hand sanitizers ang nasabat sa iba-ibang bahagi ng Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao simula Marso 19 hanggang Abril 2, batay sa mga ulat ng PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Ang mga ito ay nakumpiska sa di bababa sa 70 kataong dinakip para sa hoarding at pagbebenta ng supplies sa presyong mas mataas kaysa sa itinalagang retail price ng gobyerno.

Ayon kay PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, maaaring ipamigay ang mga nakumpiskang supplies kung iuutos ng korte matapos magamit bilang ebidensya sa pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa mga suspek.

“It is possible. After PNP has filed the case and presented the evidence in court, the prosecutor’s office releases a resolution for the disposition of evidence. It is up to the court to decide what to do with all those evidence,” sabi ni Banac sa Bandera.
