Palasyo itinanggi na nais ni Duterte ng emegency powers
ITINANGGI ng Palasyo na nanghihingi si Pangulong Duterte ng emergency powers sa Kongreso para labanan ang krisis dulot ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Iginiit ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na bagamat nagsumite ng sulat si Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea sa Senado at Kamara, ito ay para sa implementasyon ng mga hakbangin sa kinakaharap na “national emergency”.
“The letter to Congress signed by the Executive Secretary says powers necessary to carry our urgent measures to implement the national emergency, not emergency powers,” sabi ni Panelo.
