BI officials na sangkot sa “pastillas” bribery scheme sinibak ni Duterte
SINIBAK ni Pangulong Duterte ang lahat ng opisyal at empleyado na sangkot sa pinakabagong iskandalo sa Bureau of Immigration (BI) kung saan pinapayagang makapasok ang mga Chinese national kapalit ng “pastillas” bribery scheme.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na itinuturing ni Duterte na napakagrabeng katiwalian ang bagong anomalya sa BI na “pastillas” bribery scheme at hindi kailanman palalampasin ng administrasyon.
“As we have repeatedly stressed, there are no sacred cows in this Administration,” sabi ni Panelo.
Sa ilalim ng bagong anomalya, pinapayagan umano ng ilang opisyal at empleyado ng BI na makapasok sa bansa ang mga Tsinoy na nagtatrabaho sa mga Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) kapalit ng lagay na nakabalot sa mga typewriting.
“Any official or employee who commits any wrong in the performance of their respective duties shall be meted out with the punishment that they deserve and in accordance with our penal laws,” ayon pa kay Panelo.
Tiniyak ni Panelo na tatalakayin sa susunod na pulong ng Gabinete ang sitwasyon sa BI at ang liderato ni Commissioner Jaime Morente.
