Ramirez binuksan ang Philsports para sa national para-athletes

PARA makatulong sa paghahanda ng Philippine para-athletes sa 2020 Asean Para Games binuksan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang bagong ayos na Philsports Complex sa Pasig City.

“The renovations done in both Rizal Memorial and in Philsports are primarily for our elite athletes,” sabi ni PSC Chairman William Ramirez.

Kaya kahit mahigit isang linggo pa bago ang opisyal na pagbubukas nito, minabuti ng PSC na buksan na ang nasabing sports facility para masuportahan ang mga national para-athletes na naghahanda para sa pagsabak nito sa biennial meet na gaganapin ngayong darating na Marso.

“Our national para-athletes are inspired to work harder as they use the new facilities inside Philsports. We thank the PSC for supporting us,” sabi ni Philippine Paralympic Committee Executive Director Dennis Esta, na sinabi pa na nagsasagawa na nang matinding ensayo sa nasabing pasilidad para sa athletics, powerlifting at sitting volleyball.

Samantala, inanunsyo rin ni Ramirez na sa tulong ng New Clark City (NCC) at Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) deputy director general Arrey Perez, ang mga bemedalled para-swimmers na sina Ernie Gawilan at Garry Bejino pati na ang iba pang miyembro ng swimming team ay papayagan nang mag-ensayo sa Class-1 FINA-certified swimming facility ng NCC ngayong katapusan ng buwan.

“We want to duplicate the same success Team Philippines had taking top rank of the 30th SEA Games. The PSC will continue to give its full backing to the more than 280 national para-athletes competing in the Para Games,” dagdag pa ni Ramirez.

Ang 10th Asean Para Games ay nakatakdang ganapin sa Marso 21-27 kung saan ang 16 sport disciplines ay isasagawa sa 14 competition venues sa Metro Manila, Subic at Clark.
