Pagka-announce pa lang kasi that GMA made a go for Bong’s Agimat Ng Agila, the first to expressly put his foot down was Jim Paredes. “GMA should know better,” aniya sa kanyang social media post.
Siyempre, hindi ‘yon pinalampas ng manager ni Bong na si Lolit Solis in much the same way that she never spared Janine Gutierrez from her rant.
Given the dissenting public opinion, isang hamon ito para sa GMA to market its upcoming show slated this year in a way na tatangkilikin ito, setting aside the unsettling feeling na si Bong ang bibida roon vis a vis a villainous image when charged with plunder.
Nasa promo stage na ito only to call off the project despite its good intention.
Wala itong inilayo sa usaping pulitika na isa ring napaka-touchy issue which should never be brought up even in casual discussions among friends lest may kung anong ‘di kanais-nais na eksena waiting to happen.
Bong’s TV series, however, has not a tiny bit of politics in it, bagkus ito’y isang action fantasy which caters to kids. Except when the kids’ knowing parents or adult guardians get in the way ay makakaasa ang GMA at si Bong mismo na may future ang teleserye.
Maliban na lang if the elders will rewrite history.
