Paolo Duterte in, Castro out sa NUP

BUMABA na si Capiz Rep. Fredenil Castro bilang pangulo ng National Unity Party at inaasahan namang manunumpa rito si presidential son at Davao City Rep. Paulo Duterte.

“Out of delicadeza, I have to resign as president and as NUP member because the party backed the speaker,” ani Castro na posibleng lumipat sa Lakas-CMD.

Si Castro ay sumuporta kay Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez bago ang eleksyon ng speaker noong nakaraang buwan. Si Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano ang inihalal na speaker pero papalitan ito ni Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco makalipas ang 15 buwan. Si Romualdez naman ang naging House Majority Leader.

Ang NUP ay sumuporta kay Cayetano.

Sa Martes ay inaasahan namang manunumpa bilang miyembro ng NUP si Rep. Duterte. Gaganapin ito sa isang hotel sa Quezon City.

Si Rep. Duterte ay nauna ng niligawan ng PDP-Laban. Hindi umano ito pumunta roon dahil kay Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez, dating speaker na ipinatanggal ng kanyang ate na si Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Samantala, may mga miyembro umano ng PDP-Laban, ang partido ni Pangulong Duterte noong tumakbo ito noong 2016 presidential elections, na aalis at lilipat sa ibang political party.
