Mark Neumann could not let pass a very good project like Mga Batang Poz, a series now streaming on iWant.

The series is about HIV awareness. The young actor plays a guy who is afflicted with the disease.

“Noong una hindi ko alam but noong nalaman ko that’s where I really…namulat lang ang mata ko and I’m very proud of this project. It’s not really about the project itself na may trabaho ka. No.

“It’s an honor to be part of an advocacy, to be educating and guiding people and to clear things up sa stigma noong mga may HIV, living with HIV. I think we really need to raise this awareness, educating people or open their eyes, kumbaga. Bata man, matanda man, lahat, magulang, mga anak, we have to teach to become more aware and to be careful,” he said.

Although the series mapangahas in that it is quite replete with some intimate scenes, Mark felt hindi naman talaga sexy ang project na ito.

“No, it’s not a sexy series. It just happened na it’s part of life, ‘yung story. One of the most cases where you get HIV, one of them is through sexual intercourse, that’s really a part of it. Since the way direk Chris depicted it, conveyed it, it’s not really focused on that. It’s just really part of the story,” he explained.

Did direk Chris Martinez discussed how the delicate scenes will be done?

“Actually, we just went for it. Bale ‘yung blocking kay direk (nanggaling) because of the light of the cameras pero ‘yung pinakaano is kayo na ang bahala. If you want to kiss pa, you kiss pa,” ang sabi pa ni Mark Neumann.
