Bro Eddie pabor sa death pero…

HINDI umano dapat maging anti-poor ang pagbabalik ng parusang kamatayan sa bansa.

Ayon kay CIBAC Rep. Eddie Villanueva, founder ng Jesus Is Lord Movement, pabor siya na maibalik ang death penalty subalit dapat tiyakin na maipatutupad ito nang pantay.

“I know it is a biblical command of the Lord as far as heinous crimes are concerned. But, is our justice system ready to implement that based on truth, justice and righteousness? Tanong ko lang kung mayroon bang nakulong na bilyonaryo o multinaryo sa area ng illegal drugs, corruption? My point is, kailangan may safety nets. Kailangan hindi anti-poor ang implementation ng death penalty,” ani Villanueva.

Sinabi ng solon na dapat magkaroon ng proteksyon ang mga mahihirap na akusado at magagawa lamang ito kung maaayos ang justice system ng bansa.

“Sa akin lang, I have to be fair kasi I stand on God’s principle of justice, truth, righteousness and the foundations of good government.”

Sinabi ni Villanueva na kung babasahin ang Bibliya mayroong mga pagkakataon na pinapayagan ang pagpapataw ng parusang kamatayan.

“Halimbawa, murder. Marami sa Bible, sa old and new testament, ang nagsasabi patungkol sa death penalty ay pinapayagan.”

Dapat din umano ay hindi maging emotional driven kundi wisdom driven ang pagbabalik ng death penalty.

“Hindi emotion driven kundi wisdom driven dapat ang government in applying all these important policies that will impact the lives of the public.”
