Duterte seryosong pinag-iisipan ang pagputol ng diplamatic ties sa Iceland

SINABI ng Palasyo na seryosong pinag-iisipan ni Pangulong Duterte na putulin na ang ugnayan sa bansang Iceland.

“Well he mentioned last night that he is seriously considering cutting diplomatic ties with Iceland. There are only about two thousand Filipinos there and, as far as we know, there are no trade relations between these two countries – except maybe on fish,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo.

Idinagdag ni Panelo na naniniwala rin ang Malacanang na bahagya lamang ang epekto sa Pilipinas sakaling alisin na ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa Iceland.

“Yes, certainly. Not only that, we’ve been having trade relations with other countries so I don’t think cutting a relationship with one country would affect us,” ayon pa kay Panelo.

Matatandaang kinatigan ng 48 miyembro ng United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) ang isang resolusyon na isinulong ng Iceland na naglalayong magsagawa ng komprehensibong imbestigasyon kaugnay ng isyu ng human rights sa bansa.

Binatikos din ni Panelo ang naging aksyon laban sa Pilipinas.

“Pag-aralan mo muna, imbestigahan mo muna on your own, tanungin mo iyong bansang gusto mong tanungin – iyon ang pinaka-point noon, pinaka-basic ano iyan… basic decency iyan.” sabi ni Panelo.

“Ang problema kasi, naniniwala sila sa sabi-sabi kaagad; wala silang sariling pag-unawa, pag-imbestiga sa mga natatanggap nilang impormasyon na hindi totoo.” dagdag pa niya.
