ITINANGGI ni presidential daughter at Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio na sa kanya galing ang text na nagsasabing na-setup lamang si Pangulong Duterte ng mga miyembro ng Gabinete nito upang ideklarang speaker si Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano.
Sa isang pahayag, hinamon ng mayora si Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor na tigilan na ang pagkakalat umano ng intriga at pangalanan ang nagpadala sa kanya ng text message.
“Give us the name of the neophyte member of the House of Representatives from whom you received a text message with a supposed message coming from me. A responsible individual would have asked me if there is truth to the text,” ani Duterte.
Ayon sa text message na natanggap ni Defensor, nananawagan si Duterte-Carpio sa mga kongresista “na bumoto ayon sa kanilang kagustuhan dahil ang kanya ama ay na set-up lamang ng mga gahaman na Gabinete na kaalyado kay Cayetano.”
Sinabi naman ng alkalde na hindi siya kundi si Defensor ang nag-panic matapos ipatawag sa Malacanang ang mga speaker-wannabe at ipinipilit nito si Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez na suportahan.
“I reiterate for Rep. Defensor to name his source because I have a reputation to protect and I have the right to confront a person who is spreading disinformation. Otherwise, we can all say that you are your own source,” saad ng mayora.
Humingi naman si Defensor ng paumanhin kung na-offend niya ang anak ng Pangulo.
“I apologize Ma’am if I have offended you,” ani Defensor na nagsabi na bukod sa kanya ay mayroon pang ibang kongresista na nakatanggap ng naturang text message.
Sinabi ni Defensor sa pagpupulong ng partylist coalition, dalawang kongresista ang nagsabi sa kanila na patuloy ang paglaban ng Duterte Coalition at hinihikayat sila ng mga ito na sumali.
Ang Duterte Coalition ay binuo ni presidential son at Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte.
“Again, I apologized to the good Mayor Inday Sarah. I should not have shown the text with her name. It was wrong of me to drag her name unfairly on this matter,” dagdag pa ni Defensor.
