Paolo Duterte sumali na rin sa speakership race

PINAG-IISIPAN ni presidential son at Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte na tumakbo na rin sa pagka-speaker, sa kabila ng banta ni Pangulong Duterte na magre-resign ito.

Sa isang press statement, sinabi ni Duterte na paghatian na lang ang termino ng speaker— tig-isang taon sa lider mula sa Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao.

“Moapil na ko pagka-speaker,” saad ng nakababatang Duterte. “The house is divided, I might be able to help unite it. Pareho lang kaming binoto ng mga tao ah. Kung term sharing, term sharing na kaming lahat.”

Nauna ng sinabi ni Rep. Duterte na wala itong interes sa speakership subalit sasali na lamang umano sa laban dahil sa term sharing na isinusulong ni Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano.

“I will ask the visayas bloc to elect their speaker for their term share, and so with the Mindanao bloc and the partylist coalition,” dagdag pa ni Rep. Duterte.

“We are not talking about two persons here. We are talking about our beloved country. It is not about speakership alone, but who is the right person to unite congress and I hope those running for the speakership stop influencing the cabinet.”
