Rain or Shine Elasto Painters asinta ang PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals

SINAGOT ni Rain or Shine assistant coach Chris Gavina  (ikalawa mula  sa kanan) ang tanong mula sa sports media sa ginanap na 23rd “Usapang Sports” ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) Huwebes ng umaga sa National Press Club sa Intramuros, Maynila. Nakasama ni Gavina sa weekly sports forum sina TOPS president Ed Andaya at ang mga players ng Elasto Painters na sina (mula kaliwa) Norbert Torres, Javee Mocon, Beau Belga at James Yap.

KINAPOS sa pagpasok sa 2019 PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven championship matapos biguin ng Magnolia Hotshots sa pitong laro sa semifinals, hangad ngayon ng Rain or Shine Elasto Painters na makausad sa Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

Pangungunahan ni Best Import awardee Denzel Bowles at mga beteranong manlalaro na pinamumunuan nina James Yap at Beau Belga, asinta ng Elasto Painters na makapasok sa championship round ngayong kumperensiya.

“We’ve been really working hard and trying to continue where we left off last conference. We felt we were one play or one shot away from getting into the (all-Filipino) Finals against San Miguel,” sabi ni Rain or Shine assistant coach Chris Gavina sa ginanap na 23rd “Usapang Sports” ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) Huwebes ng umaga sa National Press Club sa Intramuros, Maynila.

“With the addition of Denzel Bowles for this conference parang confident kami na pwede kaming makabalik dun sa position namin last conference,” dagdag pa ni Gavina na nakasama ang mga manlalaro ng Elasto Painters na sina Beau Belga, Javee Mocon, Norbert Torres, Yap at Bowles sa weekly forum na suportado ng Philippine Sports Commission, National Press Club, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Community Basketball Association at HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drink.

“We want to get better everyday. Hopefully lahat ng mga players namin driven at may fire na makapasok sa Finals. Hopefully kami naman ang makapasok sa finals this conference,” sabi pa ni Gavina.

Sinabi pa ni Gavina na nasa maayos na kondisyon si Bowles matapos na maglaro sa isang torneo sa Japan.

“Alam naman natin kung gaano kalakas si Denzel. He can easily go for 30 points and 20 rebounds every night. So with the addition of an import that is capable of those numbers and with the contribution of our locals it really makes us an elite team I believe. Hopefully it comes into fruition this conference,” ani ni Gavina, na inaasahan ang mas mahusay na paglalaro mula kay Bowles para makabalik muli ang koponan sa Finals ngayong kumperensiya.

Sinabi naman ni Yap na kinausap niya si Bowles na ibalik nito ang kanyang ‘inside’ game dahil dito siya mas magiging epektibo.
