PINIRMAHAN na bilang ganap na batas ni Pangulong Duterte ang Universal Health Care bill na naglalayong bigyan ang lahat ng Pinoy ng health care coverage at benepisyo.
Sa ilalim ng bagong batas, isasailalim na ang lahat ng mga Pinoy sa National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) bilang direct contributor o indirect contributor.
Ang direct contributors ay mga miyembro na may kakayahang makapagbayad ng buwanang kontribusyon, samantalang indirect contributors ang may miyembro na may sponsor kagaya ng mga senior citizens o indigent.
Sa ilalim ng batas, idadagdag ang libreng konsultations at iba pang diagnostic services sa PhilHealth coverage.
