Palasyo ipinababalik ang basura mula sa Korea
IPINAG-UTOS ng Palasyo na ibalik sa South Korea ang basurang dumating sa Pilipinas.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na base sa ulat ni Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Jagger Guererro aabot sa 5,000 tonelada ng basura ang itinapon sa bansa.
“It arrived four months ago, 51 containers at MICT. It was abandoned. An alert was issued. It was found to have been misdeclared,” sabi ni Panelo.
Idinagdag ni Panelo na nagsasagawa na ng imbestigasyon kaugnay ng isyu.
“We are working with DENR to have it re-exported. It is consigned to Verde Soak. I was informed that it has no DENR permit and was found to contain hazardous materials that are illegal,” ayon pa kay Panelo.
