Drug test sa mga driver ng bus hindi lamang sa MM – PDEA

SINABI ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) na hindi lamang sa Metro Manila ang ginagawang drug test sa mga driver at konduktor ng bus bilang paghahanda para sa paggunita ng All Souls’ Day.

Idinagdag ni PDEA Deputy Director General Ruel Lasana na nagsasagawa na ng sorpresang drug test ang mga regional offices bilang bahagi ng Oplan Undaspot.

“Dapat gawin ito para maiwasan natin ang mga aksidente sa buong bansa, hindi lang dito sa Manila tayo nag-conduct nitong surprise drug test, ginawa nating ‘tong Oplan Undaspot sa buong bansa,” sabi ni Lasana bilang sagot sa mga alegasyon na nakapokus lamang ang PDEA sa Metro Manila.

Itinanggi naman ni PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon na isinasagawa lamang ang random drug test kung kinakailangan.

“We actually coordinate with the bus companies, para sila rin, utilizing their internal policies, that they conduct their own drug tests even without the prodding of law enforcement and other agencies,” sabi ni Carreon.
Nauna nang inilunsad ng PDEA kasama ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) at Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang Oplan Undaspot, para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero na nagbibiyahe para sa Undas.

Isinailalim sa drug test ang mga driver at konduktor ng Victory Liner at Bicol Isarog bus line sa kahabaan ng EDSA-Cubao, at New Busport at Old Bus Terminal sa loob ng Araneta Center.

Nag-positibo naman sa paggamit ng droga ang isang driver ng bus mula sa terminal sa Araneta Center.
