Palasyo isinisi sa inflation at Ompong ang pagtaas ng mahihirap na Pinoy

ISINISI ng Palasyo sa pagtaas ng inflation at bagyong Ompong ang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga Pinoy na nagsasabi na sila ay mahirap.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque  na nababahala naman ang gobyerno sa pinakahuling survey ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) na kung saan 52 porsiyento ng mga Filipino ang kumukonsidera sa kanilang sarili na sila ay mahirap. 

“We view with concern the Third Quarter 2018 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing 52% of Filipino families considered themselves as mahirap and n36% rating their food as mahirap,” sabi ni Roque.

Idinagdag ni Roque na naunawaan ng gobyerno ang sentimyento ng mga Pinoy. 

“Sa buwan ng Setyembre kung kailan isinagawa ang survey, ang inflation ay pumalo sa 6.7%, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA),” dagdag ni Roque.

Sinabi pa ni Roque na nanalasa naman ang bagyong Ompong sa agrikultura at imprastraktura Cordillera, Ilocos at Cagayan region, na siyang nagdulot ng mas mataas na inflation o ang pagtaas ng mga bilihin. 

“This would explain why self-rated poverty (SRP) in Balance Luzon rose to 47% in September,” ayon pa kay Roque.

Iginiit naman ni Roque na ginagawa ng gobyerno ang nararapat para maibsan ang epekto ng pagtaas ng mga bilihin.

“The government has thus implemented measures to cushion the impact of inflation and bring food on the table of poor families.  Kasama na rito ang direktiba ng Pangulo sa kanyang huling pagpupulong sa mga miyembro ng kanyang gabinete na walang limitasyong pag-aangkat ng bigas para palakasinhn ang suplay ng bigas at mapababa ang presyo nito,” sabi pa ni Roque.
