P6.8B naipuslit na shabu fake news sabi ng BoC, pero PDEA nagmatigas

ISA umanong fake news ang inulat ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency na may nakapuslit na isang toneladang shabu sa Bureau of Customs.

Sinimulan ng House committee on dangerous drugs na pinamumunuan ni Surigao del Norte Rep. Ace Barbers ang imbestigasyon sa P6.8 bilyong halaga ng shabu na nakalabas umano sa BoC ayon kay Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Aaron Aquino.

Ang mga shabu ay nakatago umano sa magnetic lifter na inilabas sa BoC at narekober sa ware sa General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite noong Agosto 9. Katulad ito ng magnetic lifter na naharang ng BoC noong Agosto 7 ay naglalaman ng 500 kilo ng shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P4.3 bilyon.

Sa pagdinig sinabi ni Customs Chief Isidro Lapeña na nagsagawa sila ng swab test at nagnegatibo sa shabu ang mga magnetic lifter na nakuha sa Cavite.

Iginiit ni Lapeña na walang basehan ang alegasyon ni Aquino na naglalaman ng shabu ang mga ito.

“As government authorities, we have to be prudent in providing unverified information to the general public to allay further fear or confusion,” ani Lapeña.

Kinontra naman ito ni PDEA Officer-in-Charge Deputy Director General for Operation Atty. Ruel Lasala.

“We join the director general na drugs ang laman ng mechanical lifter na ‘yun, ‘yun ang assessment namin taking into consideration all the evidence and indicators we saw,” ani Lasala.
