NAGPAABOT ng pakikiramay ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa pamilya ng 24-anyos na estudyanteng Pinay na dinukot at kalaunan ay natagpuang patay sa Dublin, Ireland.
Sinabi ni DFA Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano na iniulat na dinukot si Jastine Valdez, bago nadiskubre ang kanyang katawan ng Irish police.
“We grieve with the loved ones of Jastine Valdez, someone so young and so full of promise, who was suddenly taken away from them. We join the rest of the Filipino Community in Ireland in offering our prayers for Jastine and her family,” sabi ni Cayetano.
Batay sa ulat ng Philippine Embassy sa London at Honorary Consulate sa Dublin, iniulat ng pamilya ni Valdez ang kanyang pagkawala noong Sabado ng gabi.
Natagpuan ang mga labi ni Valdez noong Lunes matapos ang pagkawala nito. Kumakuha ng accountancy si Valdez sa South County Dublin.
Ayon sa ulat mula sa Honorary Consulate, paalis na ng kanyang bahay si Valdez sa Wicklow County nang siya ay dukutin ng 40-anyos na lalaki.
“Police tracked down the vehicle on Sunday and fatally shot the suspect,” sabi sa ulat.
