IGINIIT ng Palasyo ang no-ransom policy sa harap naman ng P5 milyong hinihingi ng teroristang Abu Sayyaf kapalit ng kalayaan ng dalawang policewoman na kanilang dinukot.
“As far as I know, we don’t pay ransom,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Ito’y matapos dukutin sina PO2 Benierose Alvarez, PO1 Dinah Gumahad, at dalawa nilang kasamang lalaki, sa hangganan ng Patikul at Talipao, Sulu.
Idinagdag ni Roque na hiniling ni Pangulong Duterte ang tulong ni Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) chairman Nur Misuari sa harap naman ng pananatili ng presensiya ng kanyang grupo sa Sulu.
“We all know that the MNLF still has a presence in Sulu. So, I think the President would want the MNLF to assist in the recovery of this two hostage victims,” dagdag ni Roque.
