Japan aayos ng MRT-3 sa Hunyo

MAGSISIMULA ang Japanese contractor na kumpunihin ang mga problema sa Metro Rail Transit 3 sa Hunyo.

Ayon kay Transportation Undersecretary for Rails Timothy John Batan sa ikalawang linggo ng Mayo ay magsasagawa ang Department of Transportation at Japan International Cooperation Agency ng “appraisal mission” at inaasahan ang pagpasok sa loan agreement.

“After the appraisal mission signing ng loan agreement, then mobilization of our rehab and service provider by June,” ani Batan.

Ayon sa opisyal malaki ang posibilidad na ang Sumitomo Corp. at ang technical partner nitong Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ang makakuha sa rehabilitation and maintenance contract mula sa JICA.

Ang Sumitomo Corp., ang orihinal na maintenance provider ng MRT 3 mula 2003 hanggang 2012.

“Because JICA needs to know what’s the condition of the system para malaman nila ano ‘yung kailangang ayusin … So andun na kami ngayon, meron na kaming working draft ng listahan ng lahat ng kailangang ayusin,” ani Batan.

Ang maintenance and rehabilitation contract ay tatagal ng 36 buwan.

Noong nakaraang taon ay kinansela ng DoTr ang MRT3 maintenance contract ng Busan Universal Railways Inc. dahil sa madalas na pagkasira ng mga tren.
