NAGTAPOS ng kampanya ng Philippine Malditas women’s football team na makapasok sa World Cup sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon.
Ito ay matapos na biguin ng South Korea ang Malditas, 5-0, sa fifth-place playoff ng 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup kahapon sa Amman, Jordan.
Makakasama ng Korea ang apat na semifinalist na Australia, Thailand, China at Japan sa FIFA Women’s World Cup na gaganapin sa France sa 2019.
Dahil bigo sa kanilang target sa taong ito ay pupuntiryahin ng Malditas ang 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup at ang mailap na 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
