MULING binanatan ni Pangulong Duterte si Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno kung saan tinawag niya ang huli na ignorante.
“Tsaka hindi ka dapat diyan talaga in the first place. And that term of yours — until what? 2030? That’s — that’s too long for an ignorant Chief Justice. It’s too long. Tama na ‘yan. Give way. If I were you, I will resign,” sabi ni Duterte sa isang press conference matapos bumalik mula sa kanyang biyahe sa China at Hong Kong.
Niliwanag naman ni Duterte na hindi Kongreso, kundi ang mga kapartido ang kanyang inaatasan na suportahan ang impeachment laban kay Sereno.
“I am not directing Congress, I am not a member of Congress. I am directing my partymates. O kaya sabi ko, partido naman kaya tayo, sumali ka na dito sa PDP. O then, I am asking you to impeach Chief Justice,” sabi ni Duterte.
Iginiit naman ni Duterte na nasa kamay pa rin ng Korte Suprema kung tatanggalin si Sereno bilang Chief Justice.
“Kasi kung smart ka, matatag ka diyan, walang lalaban sa iyo, at hindi ka nagkakamali sa mga declarations mo. If you are that ignorant, you better go. You are just risking the country into a chaos. Umalis ka na,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
