Pimentel tiniyak kay Sereno ang patas na impeachment trial
TINIYAK ni Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel kay Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno ang patas na pagdinig sakaling umakyat sa Senado ang impeachment complaint laban sa kanya.
“Basta ang attitude dapat ng mga senador, and I know ganito ang attitude nila, if there is no evidence, then acquit. But if there’s evidence then we also have to consider convicting, patas patas lang,” sabi ni Pimentel.
Kasabay nito, sinabi ni Pimentel na kumpiyansa siyang hindi paiiralin ng mga senador ang kanilang partidong kinaaniban sakaling umupo ang Senado bilang impeachment court, na ayon kay Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto,ay posibleng mangyari sa huling linggo ng Hulyo.
Tumanggi namang magkomento si Pimentel sa umano’y aksyon ng Korte Suprema na mag-indefinite leave si Sereno.
