NOT only has Pilipinas got talent. As a nation, Pinoys got tact, too.

Over the week ay umani ng batikos si Robin Padilla with the way he treated (or judged?) a Korean contestant sa kanilang Pilipinas Got Talent show.

And dissecting his line of defense made us realize he had a point, after all.

Sampung taon na nga namang naninirahan ang Koreanong magician na ‘yon sa Pilipinas, imposibleng he hasn’t learned even a few Tagalog words. May nobya pa mandin itong Pinay, having not learned to speak our native tongue would be doubly impossible.

Looking at it from a broader perspective (read: OA), Robin went on to say na mahal niya ang kanyang bansa, therefore, hindi siya kailanman makakapayag na maghari-harian dito ang sinumang banyaga.

Uh-oh, he sounded overly nationalistic, even going overboard gayong wala namang kumukuwestiyon sa kanyang pagiging makabayan. Feeling tuloy namin, swak si Robin bilang hurado sa Q & A segment sa It’s Showtime, himself a pompous talker.

Not necessarily in defense of the Korean guy, Robin should have exercised a bit of tact (diplomacy rin ang tawag dito).

While it would have sounded cute kung tumalima naman agad si Kim sa gustong ipagawa ni Robin sa kanya, no one should force an alien to speak the language foreign to him.

We are our own promoters of our tourism.

Pero naniniwala kami that in any given situation, it’s not “what you say” that matters, it is how.

Sounds like “manalo” ang karakter ni Michael V na Pepito Manaloto, ewan if the names of his co-stars Nova Villa and Manilyn Reynes will also spell victory dahil sila ang magkakampi sa Celebrity Bluff mamayang gabi.

Ang alam namin, a natural comedienne that she is ay karagdagang komedya ang ihahatid ni Tita Nova as she and Manilyn try to outdo their opponents na sina Matthias Road-Ashley Ortega at Sunshine Dizon-Rich Asuncion.

Pero huwag ding menosin ang koponan ni Matthias Road, is he and his partner on the road to victory?

With Edu Manzano as the master bluffer kasama sina Boobay at Brod Pete (Isko Salvador), expect a riotous episode ng nag-iisang original comedy game show sa bansa hosted by Eugene Domingo.
