SEABA schedule inilabas ng FIBA

IPINAHAYAG ng International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Lunes ang buong schedule ng pitong bansang maglalabu-labo para sa titulo ng 12th Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) Men’s Championship 2017 sa Mayo 12-18 sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Cubao, Quezon City.

Ito ay kahit nakatakda pa lamang i-finalize ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) ang Gilas Pilipinas (national men’s basketball team) lineup sa mga susunod na araw para sa isang linggong torneo na ang tatanghaling kampeon ay aabante sa 16-team 29th FIBA Asia Cup 2017 na gaganapin sa Nuhad Nawfal Stadium sa Zouk Mikael, Lebanon sa Agosto 10-20.

Sisimulan ng seven-time champion na Pilipinas ang back-to-back title bid sa regional tournament sa Mayo 12 kontra Myanmar, kasunod agad kinabukasan ng Mayo 13 ang laban sa three-time bronze winner Singapore bago ang two-time titlist Malaysia sa Mayo 14.

Lahat ng laban ng Filipino quintet ay itinakda sa ganap na alas-7 ng gabi pati ang 2013 gold medalist Thailand sa Mayo 16, Vietnam sa Mayo 17 at sa 1996 titleholder Indonesia sa Mayo 18.

Sa FIBA Asia Cup, na limang beses nang pinagharian ng mga Pinoy, madedetermina ang mga papasok sa joint FIBA Asia at FIBA Oceania qualifiers para naman sa 18th FIBA Basketball World Cup sa Agosto 31-Setyembre 15, 2019 sa China.

Ang Gilas training pool ay binubuo nina June Mar Fajardo, Jason Castro, Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Japeth Aguilar, Allein Maliksi, Raymond Almazan, Troy Rosario, LA Revilla, Jonathan Grey, Bradwyn Guinto, Norbert Torres, Mac Belo, Matthew Wright, Kevin Ferrer, Von Pessumal, Ed Daquioag, Carl Bryan Cruz, Alfonso Gotladera, Mike Tolomia, Arnold Van Opstal, Roger Pogoy, Jio Jalalon, Russell Escoto at Art Dela Cruz.
