Gun ban ipapatupad sa Cebu para sa Sinulog, Ms Universe

CEBU CITY–Ipapatupad ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang gun ban sa Cebu simula bukas at tatagal ng 10 araw bilang bahagi ng pinahigpit na seguridad sa harap ng nakatakdang Pista ng Sto. Nino, Sinulog Festival at ang swimsuit competition ng Miss Universe pageant.

Sa kanyang kautusan, ipinagbawal ni PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa ang pagdadala ng armas sa labas ng bahay kahit pa lisensiyado ang mga ito mula Enero 9 hanggang Enero 18 sa lungsod ng Cebu, Mandaue at Lapu-Lapu at probinsya ng Cebu.
Ipinost ni Councilor Dave Tumulak, deputy mayor for police matters, ang direktiba ni dela Rosa sa kanyang Facebook account pasado alas-9 ng gabi.
“Only members of the PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), who are performing official duties and in agency-prescribed uniforms will be allowed to carry firearms,” ayon pa sa kautusan ni dela Rosa.
Aarestuhin ang mga indibidwal, kasama na ang mga naka-sibilyan, off-duty na pulis, militar at security guard na mahuhuling magdadala ng baril sa labas ng kanilang bahay at kakasuhan ng illegal possession of firearms.
Nauna nang hiniling ni Chief Supt. Noli Talino, director ng Central Visayas police regional office kay dela Rosa ang pagpapatupad ng gun ban sa selebrasyon ng Fiesta Senor. na nagsimula mula Enero 5 at tatagal hanggang Enero 15, at sa selebrasyon ng Feast of Sto. Nino de Cebu at sa Sinulog grand parade.
Pinalawig ang gun ban hanggang Enero 17 kung saan isasagawa ang swimsuit competition para sa Miss Universe pageant sa Lapu-Lapu City.
