2 BI officials na sangkot sa P50M extortion pinagbibitiw na ng Palasyo

PHNOM PEHN, CAMBODIA— TAHASANG sinabi kahapon ng Palasyo na dapat nang magkusang magbitiw sa puwesto ang dalawang opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na nauna nang inakusahan ng pangingikil ng P50 milyon sa gambling tycoon na si Jack Lam.

Sa isang briefing, sinabi ni Labor Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III na hindi na dapat antayin nina BI assistant commissioner Al Argosino at Michael Robles na tanggalin sila ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa puwesto.

“If it is true that they are involved in extortion, I think only honorable thing for them to do is to leave their office to save the President the burden of dismissing them,” sabi Bello.

Nauna na nang inirekomenda ni Aguirre kay Duterte na alisin na sa puwesto sina Argosino at Robles.

So, it’s not a guarantee ‘no kasi the very reason why the President has gone into this crusade is because of the reality that corruption pervades the government, especially before he came in. Kaya niya diniin ‘yung kampanya niya against corruption,” dagdag ni Bello.

Sinabi pa ni Bello na sinusubukan ng mga tiwaling opisyal ang pasensiya ni Duterte.

“Probably they’re trying the patience of the President pero doon sila nagkakamali,” ayon pa kay Bello. (Bella Cariaso)
