Meralco Bolts ginapi ang NLEX Road Warriors
MATINDING ratsada sa huling yugto ang isinagawa ng Meralco Bolts para patumbahin ang NLEX Road Warriors, 106-93, at makuha ang unang panalo sa kanilang 2016-17 PBA Philippine Cup elimination round game kahapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Cubao, Quezon City.
Nagsanib puwersa sa ikaapat na yugto sina Chris Newsome at rookie Ed Daquioag para pamunuan ang 16-3 ratsada ng Bolts upang ang dikit na 87-84 iskor ay maging 103-87 bentahe sa huling dalawang minuto ng laro.
Si Newsome, ang PBA Season 41 Rookie of the Year, ay kinamada ang 20 sa kanyang 28 puntos sa second half na sinamahan pa niya ng 10 rebound at apat na assist habang si Daquioag ay nag-ambag ng 23 puntos, 10 dito sa ikaapat na yugto kung saan kumawala ang Meralco tungo sa pagkubra ng panalo.
“We felt it was very important we matched the energy of NLEX in this game from the start,” sabi ni Meralco coach Norman Black.
Si Cliff Hodge ay nagdagdag ng 12 puntos, limang rebound at limang assist para sa Bolts.
