DOT itinanggi na kanselado na ang Miss Universe sa PH

ITINANGGI ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang mga ulat na kinansela na ang pagho-host ng Pilipinas sa Miss Universe pageant sa 2017.

Sa isang pahayag, iginiit ni DOT Undersecretary Kat De Castro na wala silang impormasyon kaugnay ng anumang kanselasyon sa pagsasabing patuloy ang mga pagpupulong kasama ang  Miss Universe Organization (MUO).

“We are not aware of any cancellation for Miss Universe. We are still having ongoing meetings with the MUO. Let us wait for official announcements before jumping into any conclusion,” sabi ni De Castro.

Idinaan ni  De Castro sa social media ang pagtanggi sa mga tsismis, na ayon sa kanya ay nagsimula sa kanyang post sa Facebook na umiiyak kung saan isinama niya si Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach sa kanyang tag.

“Those cancellation rumors on Miss Universe, are simply just that… rumors. Please wait for official announcements soon from MUO. Thank you,” sabi ni De Castro.

“Some are citing my post last Thursday BEFORE the Hitler issue. Pia & I had dinner. We were reminiscing. Hence, the iyak part. Chill lang,” dagdag ni De Castro.

Sinabi pa ng  DOT na kagagaling pa lamang ng isang grupo mula sa MUO para magsagawa ng  ocular inspection para sa mga posibleng pagdarausan ng pageant, kabilang na ang Vigan, Palawan at Cebu.

Itinakda ang  Miss Universe pageant sa Enero  30, 2017 sa  Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.
