Top spot target ng Arellano Chiefs laban sa San Beda Red Lions

MAISARA ang mahusay na kampanya sa elimination round sa pamamagitan ng kumbinsidong panalo ang hangad ng Arellano University Chiefs sa paghaharap nila ng San Beda Red Lions sa huling elimination-round playdate ngayon ng NCAA Season 92 men’s basketball tournament sa Filoil Flying V Centre sa  San Juan City.

“It would be nice to add that accomplishment to add to our record this season and doing it against San Beda, which has tormented teams in the league for so long, should make it even more special,” sabi ni Arellano coach Jerry Codiñera, na ang koponan ay hangad malagpasan ang 13 panalo na naitala dalawang season na ang nakakalipas kung saan umabot ang Chiefs sa finals subalit natalo sa Red Lions.

Ang Red Lions, na katulad ng Chiefs ay may twice-to-beat advantage sa semifinals, ay tatangkaing mapalawig ang higit isang dekadang streak bilang top seed papasok sa Final Four sa kanilang alas-4 ng hapon na laro na posibleng magsisilbi bilang championship preview.

Samantala, dinurog ng San Sebastian College Stags ang Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, 85-58, sa unang laro kahapon.

Ang Stags ay nagtapos ngayong season na may 8-10 record.

Sa ikalawang laro, naungusan ng Letran Knights ang Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals sa overtime, 93-87, para tapusin ang kanilang season na may 9-9 kartada katabla ang JRU.

Nagtapos naman ang EAC sa 6-12 karta.
