PNP chief tiniyak na hindi puputulin ang phone signal sa APEC meet

TINIYAK ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ricardo Marquez na hindi puputulin ang phone signal sa nakatakdang Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit sa susunod na linggo.

“Unlike in the Pope operations, shutting down cell sites is not part of the planning and preparation for the Apec,” sabi ni Marquez, na siyang Apec task force commander.

Ito’y matapos namang alisin ang signal ng mga telecommunications company para matiyak ang seguridad ni Poe Francis sa kanyang pagbisita sa bansa.

“For one, the Pope travelled in an open vehicle. You know how the heads of state travel. We wouldn’t like to do something that will inconvenience all of us,” sabi ni Marquez.
