Chiz binatikos si Mar Roxas matapos tutulan ang mas mababang buwis

BINATIKOS kahapon ni Sen. Francis Escudero III si dating Interior secretary Mar Roxas matapos tutulan ang panukalang batas na naglalayong mapababa ang income tax rate, sa pagsasabing taliwas ito sa posisyon ni Pangulong Aquino.

“If he truly cares about the three to four million middle-income workers who stand to benefit from lowering income taxes, and empathizes with the struggles they face every day, then he should find a way to make it work,”sabi ni Escudero.

Idinagdag ni Escudero na nauna nang sinabi ni Aquino na handa niyang pakinggan ang posisyon ng mga mambabatas na nagsusulong ng panukalang batas.

“Kung gusto, maraming paraan; kung ayaw, maraming dahilan,” dagdag ni Escudero.

Iginiit ni Escudero na hindi kailangang itaas ang Value Added Tax (VAT) para mabawi ang umano’y P30 bilyong mawawalang koleksyon kada taon.

“We don’t have to raise the VAT as earlier measures like the sin tax have already increased government revenue. Lowering the income tax broadens the tax base, increases the purchasing power of our people and it increases consumption, thereby spurring production and producing more jobs. We need to lower income taxes and we need to do it now,” dagdag ni Escudero.
