DOH itinanggi ang ulat 10 bata ang namatay sa purga sa Zambo del Sur
ITINANGGI kahapon ng mga lokal na pamahalaan at ng mga opisyal ng Deparment of Health (DOH) ang ulat na 10 bata ang namatay matapos purgahin sa Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.
Sinabi ni Dr. Joshua Brillantes, chief local health support division ng DOH sa Western Mindanao (DOH-9) na nakarating sa kanilang opisina ang hindi beripikadong ulat.
“But when we had it checked with our personnel there, it turned out to be false information,” sabi ni Brillantes.
Idinagdag ni Brillantes na iniulat pa ang tsismis sa isang istasyon ng radyo sa Pagadian City.
“I was told even the mayors ordered to let the children go home (from school),” dagdag ni Brillantes.
Sinabi ni Col. Paolo Perez, training division officer ng 1st Infantry Division in Camp Pulacan, Zamboanga del Sur na ang Radyo Bagting sa Pagadian ang siyang nag-ulat hinggil sa pagkamatay ng 10 bata matapos mapurga sa Dumingag.”
“Parents in Pagadian and elsewhere in Zamboanga del Sur were alarmed,” dagdag ni Perez.
Sinabi naman ni Dumingag Mayor Nacianceno Pacalioga na inaalam na niya kung saan nagmula ang ulat.
“We are meeting right now to trace where the report came from,” sabi ni Pacalioga.
Ayon kay Brillantes, matagal nang ipinapatupad ng DOH ang kampanya kontra bulate sa mga mag-aaral kung saan pinapainom nila ang mga bata ng chewable na Albendazole.
“This is a safe medicine, approved by BFAD (Bureau of Food and Drugs). Kids are required to take breakfast before taking the medicine. No worries for parents because, as I have said, it is safe,” aniya.
