KZ Tandingan pinakamagaling sa Himig Handog 2014
KATATAPOS lang ng grand finals ng Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2014 na ginanap sa Araneta Coliseum last Sunday, and finally, nabawasan na ang stress ng bawat isa sa amin.
It was so much fun to be working with the whole Himig Handog team – me and my baby Michael Pangilinan had so much to thank sa songwriting competition na ito.
Unang-una, with Himig Handog napasok finally ni Michael ang mainstream ng music industry – if there’s something we really have to thank this event for, ito siguro ang pinakamalaking pakinabang namin kahit hindi kami nanalo sa finals night.
Gusto naming pasalamatan ang ABS-CBN, Star Records and ang kompositor na si Joven Tan who wrote this beautiful song “Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako”.
Masaya kami dahil Michael was able to work or shall we say, he was pitted with some of the biggest names in the music industry – isang malaking panalo na iyon on our part. With “Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako” ay nakilala ang pangalan niya sa mapa ng showbiz, mas tumatag siya bilang artist at nakaranas mag-perform sa dream venue niyang Araneta Coliseum.
“Kasi naman ayaw niya ng friendship lang that night – gusto niya talaga ng relasyon kaya hindi kami nagkaintindihan kaya hayan tuloy, natalo kami. Ha-hahaha! Joke lang.
Kidding aside, masaya ako at naitawid ko ang song nang maayos. Wala akong kuwestiyon sa judging, hindi ko lang siguro talaga panahon pa.
For sure naman, one day my time will come,” ani Michael who treated some of his fans sa Gerry’s Grill after the contest.
Sobrang saya namin because nabigyan si Michael ng malaking chance to be part of ABS-CBN’s most awaited and most credible songwriters’ competition, not all artists kasi are given the chance to interpret an entry.
Ang mahalaga ay nabigyan niya ng hustisya ang nasabing awitin. Ganoon talaga sa contest, may nananalo at meron ding natatalo. But we are very happy with KZ Tandingan’s win with her sterling performance for the entry “Mahal Ko O Mahal Ako”. Galing talaga ni KZ. And to the rest of the winners, congrats!
Sa totoo lang, kung merong sobrang stressed dahil sa competition na ito ay walang iba kundi kaming mga stagemothers. Ha-hahaha! Umabot pa nga sa puntong halos mawalan ako ng boses dala ng stress and pressure – rehearsals, kasasama sa promo appearances ni Michael and all.
