HINDI umano maaaring ihalo si Sen. Jinggoy Estrada sa kulungan ng mga ordinaryong preso.
Ito ang sinabi kahapon ng kampo ni Estrada bilang tugon sa hiling ng prosekusyon na ilipat siya sa ordinaryong kulungan.
Sa 12-pahinang opposition, sinabi ng kanyang abogadong si Jose Flaminiano na ang pagkulong kay Estrada ngayon ay hindi isang parusa kundi paraan lamang umanong matiyak na haharapin nito ang kasong plunder na kanyang kinakaharap.
“Those who insist on putting Senator Estrada in an ordinary prison cell already wish to penalize him for a crime that has yet to be proved and of which he is still presumed innocent,” aniya.
Si Estrada ay kasalukuyang nakakulong sa PNP Custodial Center sa Camp Crame at nais ng prosekusyon na ilipat siya sa Camp Bagong Diwa sa Bicutan, Taguig City.
“He is an incumbent senator of the Republic of the Philippines, having served as such since 2004. He is a son of a former President and a member of the former First Family. He was a mayor of the City of San Juan for many years,” dagdag ni Flaminiano.
