Kasambahay holiday umusad na
Inaprubahan na ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikalawang pagbasa ang panukala na ideklara ang Enero 18 bilang special non-working day para sa mga kasambahay.
Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay tatawaging Araw ng Kasambahay (House bill 6285) bilang pagkilala sa kanilang kahalagahan sa isang pamilya.
Ang matatapat sa Sabado o Linggo ang pagdiriwang ito ay ililipat sa Biyernes.
“This labor and social landmark legislation embodies the recognition of domestic workers as heroes in our households, whose rights and welfare should be strengthened, protected and promoted,” ani House majority leader Rodolfo Farinas, may-akda ng panukala.
