It’s fun to be a fan

HINDI sisikat ang isang artista (o sa kasong ito, love team) kung hindi sa mga fans na todo ang suporta at pagmamahal sa kanilang idols.

Sa aming #KaBanderaKa anniversary issue, sinilip ng BANDERA ang ilan sa mga fandoms ng sikat na mga love teams at inalam ang istorya sa likod ng kanilang pagigiging panatiko.

Favorite McLisse moment?

Marami, pero ‘yung pinaka-recent is ‘yung nakaraang McLisse first year anniversary dahil marami ang nagulat sa ginawa ni McCoy. Sa harap ng maraming tao—kasama na ang magulang niya at kapatid, nandoon din ang ina at pamilya ni Elisse, ilang kasamahan sa industriya at mga fans —buong tapang, kahit halatang kinakabahan, na nagawa ni McCoy na magpaalam sa ina ni Elisse na si Tita Barbie para bigyan siya ng tiwala na mag-alaga kay Elisse. At kasabay ay inihayag niya ang nararamdaman niya para kay Elisse.

Bakit sila ang napili n’yong supportahan?

Mula umpisa ay nakita namin ‘yung totoong sila. Nabuo ang McLisse nang natural lang–parang destiny yung takbo ng kwento nila. Bukod sa kilig, habang tumatagal ay nakikilala namin sila at masasabi namin na napakatotoo nila, simple, mabuti silang tao, mabait, humble, madali silang lapitan at marunong magpahalaga sa mga tulad namin na tagasuporta nila.

Ano ang pinakanakakabaliw na ginawa n’yo as a fan?

Craziest would be.. at present I am here in Auckland, NZ studying. I need to go back to the Philippines during my two weeks term break to help my friends Team Pordalab in the preparation of the McLisse first year anniversary. The event itself falls on the week which is start na ng class ko sa NZ so nag-absent ako ng 1 week sa school, then a day after ng event flight ko na pabalik ng NZ, late na ako ng more than a week sa class.. walang nakaka-alam sa mga ganap ko sa Pinas hehe!

Message ko/namin sa McLisse, stay grounded lang kahit malayo na ang nararating at mararating nyo, sana huwag kayo’ng magbago, kung ano yung minahal sa inyo ng mga tao panatilihin nyo yun. Nandito lang kami para sa inyo magbibigay ng buong suporta dahil naniniwala kami sa inyo, dahil deserve nyo, at dahil masaya kami na unti-unti naaabot nyo ang mga dreams nyo. Always remember na kahit maging roller coaster ang maging samahan kapit lang tayo sa isa’t isa at hanggang dulo sana. Mahal namin kayo McCoy and Elisse, kahit anong dumating We Got You! Yung backhug sa kitchen (PBB days) after nilang magtampuhan. That’s my favorite talaga.

Bakit sila ang napili n’yong supportahan?

I chose to support them because ‘yung spark nila mala-fireworks, kitang-kita at feel na feel mo. And mapagmahal sila sa mga fans, hindi namimili at hindi mahirap i-please. At higit sa lahat, mabait silang dalawa and very humble.

Ano ang pinakanakakabaliw na ginawa n’yo as a fan?

Craziest fangirl moment ko po is ‘yung nagpupuyat na gumawa ng props, nahilo kakaikot sa Divisoria to look for the materials at ‘yung a-absent sa work makapunta lang sa event nilang dalawa.

Favorite AlDub moment?

Parang mahirap na isa lang. There are several noteworthy AlDub moments. July 16 – the first time they “met” via split screen, Plywood Scene, The Abduction, Tamang Panahon, and AlDub Wedding.

Bakit sila ang napili n’yong supportahan?

Hirap mag-pinpoint ng isang reason lang din. I was never a fan of love teams. I don’t like orchestrated, canned team-ups that are made to pass as actual romantic couples. Alden and Maine’s couldn’t be more organic. Walang plano-plano. They’re authentic. The typical formula used on love teams was never used on them. But the kilig is real and that makes them really special. I also love supporting them as just two regular kids. At the end of the day, they’re just two kids trying to make their dreams come true. I root for them and it’s exciting to watch their journey. I just want them to be happy and do well.

Ano ang pinakanakakabaliw na ginawa n’yo as a fan?

Naku madami rin! First time ko mag-fangirl sa love team kaya intense. Pumila para magpa-reserve at bumili ng magazines nila. I have several copies! But I have never read them. I just want to make sure I support them. I also used to work in entertainment, I could easily get audience pass and even backstage access. Pero para kay Alden and Maine, pipila ako nang matagal at tatayo sa crowd makita lang sila. Yung ibang friends ko, ganun din. One time, nagbabad sila overnight sa shooting. Yung isa sa kanila muntik hiwalayan ng BF niya kasi monthsary pala nila nun. Lagot!

Mahal namin kayo nang lubos-lubos. Kung saan kayo masaya, susuportahan namin kayo. Stay put lang kayo diyan kasi hindi kami aalis. Hanggang sa huli, sasamahan namin kayo, mga mahal.

I love the time when Kathryn forgave Daniel for the audio scandal. You can clearly feel the kilig factor when they are together.

Why KathNiel? i can explain this in two words: REAL and SINCERE ang relationship nila. We love them because they always think about us before doing anything. Give and take ang relationship nila with the fans.

Way back 2013 there was this contest on a Facebook page where you could win edited fan signs. I joined the quiz on Kathniel. One of the questions was “Sino ang kapatid na panganay ni Kathryn? I asked my friend and she said, “Si Ate Chrysler” i was surprised so I said, “Hala hindi ba si Min?” To this she replied: “Mommy niya yun!” Pahiya si Ate Girl!

Favorite MayWard moment is mostly behind the cam. The way Edward cares for Maymay, for me, is the best MayWard moment. Kasi it’s not rehearsed or what, it’s natural.

Nakita ko na sincere silang tao and ‘yung chemistry ay matindi. Makikita mo tlaga na they have this magical connection despite their differences.
