Bola ng lotto tuloy-tuloy kahit walang lider

Tuloy-tuloy ang bola ng lotto kahit na wala pang ulo ang Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.      Kahapon ay hindi rin pumunta si PCSO chairman Erineo Maliksi sa pagdinig ng budget ng PCSO sa House committee on appropriations.      Sinabi ni PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II na hindi na pumasok si Maliksi sa PCSO nang pumunta sa kanyang tanggapan ang umano’y chief of staff ng itatalaga ni Pangulong Duterte bilang kanyang kapalit.      “Last week or two weeks ago, the chief of staff of a certain alleged appointee of the PCSO went to our office and talked with our Chairman. He thought, for delicadeza, he won’t be going to the Office, not attending the Office,” ani Rojas.      Sinabi ni Rojas na siya ay isang career officer kaya hindi siya kasama sa mga masusumite ng courtesy resignation kay Duterte alinsunod sa ipinalabas na Memorandum Circular no 4 ni Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea.      “The memorandum only came out last night, we are given seven days from last night. In my case, I’m a career official, and hold the highest plantilla position so I am excluded. All the board of officers and chairperson will tender their resignation,” ani Rojas. “The day to day operations will continue, it is only policymaking that will cease temporarily, until such time, majority of the Board will be appointed.”      Ang PCSO ay kumita ng P32.4 bilyon noong 2015 at P7.99 bilyon sa unang tatlong buwan ng taon. Malaking bahagi ng kita ng PCSO ay napupunta sa mga mahihirap na pasyente at ospital.      Inirekomenda naman ni House minority leader Danilo Suarez na palakasin ang operasyon ng Small Town Lottery sa buong bansa na makapagbibigay umano ng trabaho sa 1.5 milyong Filipino bilang mga kubrador.      “Most of these bet collectors (kubradors) are overaged, uneducated, and who basically finish high school. It will be great opportunity if we will be able to hire them,” ani Suarez. “Itong mga taong ito na pa-casual casual kung ano-ano ginagawa. After three days, walang trabaho, pusher na ito, holdaper na ito kasi walang pagkakakitaan. But here, we have an opportunity.”      Sa kasalukuyan mayroong 180,000 kubrador ang PCSO sa 41 lalawigan kung saan may operasyon ng STL. Noong 2015 kumita ang STL ng P4.794 bilyon at sa unang tatlong buwan ng taon ay P1.231 bilyon. 30
