Palasyo sinabing taumbayan na ang magdedesisyon kung iboboto si Duterte matapos murahin si Pope Francis

SINABI ng Palasyo na ang taumbayan na ang magdedesisyon kung iboboto si Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte matapos namang murahin si Pope Francis sa kanyang proklamasyon sa kanyang pagtakbo bilang pangulo sa 2016.

Rumesbak din si Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda kay Duterte matapos siyang sabihan na manahimik.

“I spoke as a Catholic. And if he wants to hit government — use this a means of hitting government, that is his right,” sabi ni Lacierda.

Idinagdag ni Lacierda na hindi rason para kay Duterte na gamitin ang isyu ng trapik para murahin si Pope Francis.

“So don’t throw it back… You know, incidentally, the Pope was our revered guest, well loved and well respected by millions of Catholics. People waited in line to catch a rare glimpse of Pope Francis and for all of us who labored under the weather na hinintay siya ng gaano katagal, it was a rewarding experience noong nakita siya. So iyon lang ang aking reaction doon sa sinabi ni Mayor Duterte,” dagdag ni Lacierda.

Ayon pa kay Lacierda, nagulat siya sa ginawang pagmumura ni Duterte sa Papa.

“I was certainly surprised, you know. There’s a difference when you say ‘PI’ and then when you say ‘PI mo’ di ba? I mean it’s common language,” sabi pa ni Lacierda.

Sinabi pa ni Lacierda na hindi maaaring itanggi ni Duterte ang ginawang pagmumura kay Pope Francis dahil naka-live ang kanyang talumpati.

“You know, his response is ‘I never said it,’ but you know, like I said, check the word, check his word, it’s [in] the transcript. Every station recorded his transcript,” giit pa ni Lacierda.

Aniya, wala sa lugar ang pagmumura ni Duterte kay Pope Francis dahil lamang sa trapik.

“But ‘yung traffic inayos po natin para maayos po ang paglakbay ni Pope Francis at saka ‘yung mga taumbayan po natin, nailagay po natin sa kalye para may pagkakataon silang makita si Pope Francis kapag dumaan ang kanyang sasakyan,” paliwanag ni Lacierda, kaugnay ng pagbisita ni Pope Francis noong Enero.

Samantala, sinabi ni Lacierda na ang mamamayan na lamang ang magdedesisyon kung iboboto si Duterte matapos namang aminin niya na may dalawa siyang asawa at dalawang girlfriend.

“You know, my statement is the people will be the ultimate judge of each and every candidate, not just in the national but also in the local elections. Let the people decide on who they want to be their leaders. You know, it’s up to the people,” aniya.
