LEA Salonga knew she was bashed for her Independence Day rants.

She did not let it pass without explaining her side. She took a stand at talagang pinanindigan niya ang kanyang ID rants.

“Thanks to many Twitterers, I have learned the difference between KASARINLAN and KALAYAAN,” she recently tweeted.

“However, this brings me to another question…When is Independence Day? Yes, June 12, 1898 was its DECLARATION after Spain. But, there were the Americans, then Japanese, and Americans.

“So after the Americans, we got our actual (according to what I’ve read) independence on July 4, 1946. So what we celebrate therefore…is the declaration on June 12, not the actual on July 4.

Confusing but there it is. Will need to read more now that I have free time,” dagdag pa niya. Nagpatutsada si Lea when she said, “I’m man enough to admit when I’m wrong. #SorryNotButhurt.”

Later, she dropped hints that someone threw expletives at her on Twitter when she tweeted, “I welcome fun, respectful and intelligent discussion.

Pero kung mumurahin mo lang ako, huwag mo nang sayangin ang load, oras/kuryente mo.” So, merong nagmura kay Aling Lea? Whoever he is, what a brave soul!!!
