Hindi umano kuwalipikado si Sen. Grace Poe na tumakbo sa 2016 presidential elections dahil kulang pa ang kanyang residency requirement.
Sinabi ni Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco, interim president ng United Nationalist Alliance na pinamumunuan ni Vice President Jejomar Binay na dapat ay 10 taong residente ng bansa ang tatakbo sa pagkapangulo.
“The constitutional requirement for vice president and president is 10 years,” ani Tiangco. “Six years and six months plus three years equals nine years and six months….You can’t argue with a number.”
Inilabas ni Tiangco ang certificate of candidacy na inihain ni Poe noong 2013 senatorial elections kung saan nakalagay na anim na taon at anim na buwan siyang residente ng bansa hanggang noong eleksyon.
“This is a sworn affidavit. This is notarized. If this is fake barilin niyo ako dito,” hamon pa ni Tiangco.
Kung dadagdagan umano ito ng tatlong taon, ay lalabas na siyam na taon pa lamang siyang residente ng bansa.
Hinamon ni Tiangco si Poe na maging tapat at sagutin ang isyu kung kuwalipikado siyang tumakbo sa susunod na taon.
Kahapon ay nagpahayag ng paniniwala si Tiangco na mananalo pa rin si Binay sa kabila ng mga alegasyong ipinupukol sa kanya.
Si Poe ay mahigpit na kalaban ni Binay sa presidential race batay sa resulta ng mga survey.
