Duremdes nanghinayang sa pag-alis sa Falcons

MAY panghihinayang si Kenneth Duremdes matapos pormal na alisin ng Adamson  Soaring Falcons bilang head coach sa 78th UAAP season.

Si Duremdes ay pumasok sa koponan noong Season 76 at tatlong taon ang kanyang pinirmahang kontrata.
“Medyo untimely,” wika ni Duremdes sa desisyon na alisin siya sa team. “Three-year program ang inilatag bilang first year pa lang wala na.”

Sa kalatas na inilabas ng Adamson kahapon, sinabi nila na epektibo noong Hunyo 1 ang pagkawala ni Duremdes at naghahanap sila ng isang coach na puwedeng magbigay ng lubusang oras para magabayan ang koponan.

“The team management has agreed to release Mr. Duremdes from his duties as they would like to have someone who can dedicate his full time and attention to the development of the team,” ayon sa kalatas.

Si first assistant coach Mike Fermin ang pansamantalang kukuha sa puwesto hanggang may pangalanan ang management na papalit kay Duremdes.

Hindi man naging maganda ang nangyari sa kanyang kauna-unahang coaching stint, ang dating star player ng Adamson at PBA Great ay bukas pa rin sa oportunidad na humawak ng ibang koponan sa hinaharap.

“Sa ngayon ay wala pang plan. Pero kapag may opportunity uli, puwede namang mag-try uli,” dagdag nito.

Pumasok si Duremdes sa pagtatapos ng Season 76 at pinalitan niya si Leo Austria na nagtala lamang ng 4-10 karta dahilan para mamaalam agad sa kompetisyon.

Ngunit hindi maganda ang unang taon ni Duremdes nang nagtala lamang sila ng 1-13 karta at ang panalo ay nakuha sa huling laro laban sa University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons na kasalo nila sa ikapito at ikawalong puwesto.
