Ordinansa ng QC inalmahan ni Heart Evangelista
UMALMA ang aktres na si Heart Evangelista sa isang ordinansa sa Quezon City na naglilimita sa mga residente sa bilang ng alagang hayop.
Ayon kay Evangelista, spokesperson ng Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), sa kanyang Instagram account na ang ordinansa ay maaring magresulta sa pet abandonment.
“I’d like to think that they had good intentions in passing the ordinance and while I agree with some of its provisions…Animal welfare is not about this. Abandonment of dogs/cats is punishable by law and this totally goes against it,” ayon kay Heart.
“It promotes dog/cat lovers to abandon their dogs no matter what age and how long they have had the dog/cat in their home. Pet abandonment is a crime under amended AWA. If people are imposed penalties or fees for having more than four pets…this may increase the incidence of pet abandonments,” dagdag pa nito.
Umaaasa ang aktres na ipagpapaliban ni Mayor Herbert Bautista habang hindi pa nakokonsulta ang mga residente ng syudad.
Anya, hindi umano sinabihan ang PAWS hinggil sa ordinansa.
Inaprubahan ng Quezon City Council ang Ordinance No. 2386 na nagsasabi na hanggang apat na pet o hayop lamang ang maaaring alagaan ng isang tahanan.
